Millionaire Slaves, What A Concept!

“If we are disrespecting the flag, then we won’t play. Period.” These are the words from Jerry Jones.

Jones spoke to his players and His message was clear, "We’re partners, and over 90 percent of our audience will never set foot in the stadiums you play, and we have to be cognizant of how easy it is for any of them to tune you out, and work to address your causes without burning the business."

Jerry Jones' "threat," caused liar and racist Michael Bennet to become victimised and feel like the 19th century slave Dred Scott. I'm pretty certain that Scott wasn't a millionaire, much less getting paid.

The reality is that the discord of the past few weeks wasn’t good for anyone’s bottom line, and the ratings might just be the first proof.

According to Giants owner John Mara whose team has had a 7% decline this season, “There’s no question this [protest] has had an impact on the business. This is an important social issue. And sometimes you have to put the interests of the business behind the interest of issues that are more important than that.”

The "impact" could be felt throughout the first six weeks of the NFL season, total viewership of games is down 7.5 percent, compared with the first six weeks of 2016: so far 15 million people watched games this year, compared with 16.2 million people this time last year.

Twenty-five NFL teams are seeing a drop in local numbers so far this season. Nineteen have dropped 5 percent or more; the Cowboys (7% drop), Patriots (8%) and Steelers (6%), and the New York Giants are down 7%.

The Jets are down a whopping 37% and on a positive note the Chiefs, Bucs, and Lions are up over 5 percent.

Last year, 2015 the NFL owners blamed the drop in ratings on the 2016 Presidential Elections, but in 2016 the ratings are still falling. The owners can hide behind their 2016 election excuse, but there is nothing to hide behind in 2016.

The owners need to face the facts that their spoiled, brat millionaires need to straighten up if they want to continue to play.
