California has gone Crazy

jamesbaxley

Has the former great state of California finally lost its mind? As the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)  agency prepares for state wide raids in San Francisco and northern California cities, California Attorney General Xavier Becerra (D-CA) has said that employers in California who “cooperate with ICE” during their immigration raids would be “prosecuted.”

These new laws are in opposition of President Trump’s latest Executive Order which aims to empower US ICE agencies and other federal agencies. The President’s Executive Order allows immigration agencies to “unapologetically enforce the law, no ifs ands or buts.”

California is home of the largest illegal alien population in North America, around 7% of the California population or  around 2.6 million people but nobody really knows for certain the true numbers. It also has nearly 500 sanctuary cities within its borders but the whole of California has been deemed a Sanctuary state.

What is a sanctuary city? It is a city which defies the laws of the federal government and gives illegal aliens the same rights, sometimes (and most of the time) special rights to illegals. Illegal aliens are able to get driver’s licenses, social security benefits, and most importantly they are able to vote in elections and this is the underlying premise of California becoming a sanctuary state.

Xavier Becerra has just made following federal law a crime. If any employer helps ICE by giving them information which leads to an illegal alien detainment, that employer will be prosecuted. These outragous demands are stated in two new laws which took place in 2018: One of which is AB 450.

Then there is Senate Bill 54 (SB 54), also known as the California Values Act. This bill makes it a crime for law enforcement officials to cooperation with the federal government to deport violent and serious felony offenders. “This bill is unsafe,” said Sen. Jeff Stone, R-Temecula. “This bill is unlawful. This bill is designed to make California a sanctuary for certain dangerous criminals.”

The state of California is trying to defy President Trump and his enforcement of immigration law which has been ignored during the last eight years. The legislators are so adamantly anti-Trump that they are talking about secession: Calexit.

But it isn’t just California that wants to secede, northern California wants to break away from lower California.  The representatives of the north are talking secession because they believe that some of the new laws passed, AB 450 and SB 54 specifically are unconstitutional.

The question which needs to be asked is what if the other states of the Union started to defy Federal Law? What if these states make it illegal for its citizens to follow federal law or risk being imprisoned? It could become messy pretty quickly. All states have their own fully armed and fully trained military: The National Guard.

These laws are just another way for the government of California to run their citizen’s life. Not only can you go to jail for obeying federal law, the democrats are looking at sending restaurant staff to jail for six months and/or fining them $1000 dollars for violating AB1884 (Straws Upon Request) which entails offering their customers a straw. This belongs up there with the EU’s Commission Regulation (EC) No. 2257/94 which makes it illegal to sell curved bananas. This is known as the “bendy banana law.”
